Mattel has kicked off 2012 with a bang with the Hot Wheels brand. So far there has been nonstop excitement with the New Models. Many of my favorite street cars have been turned into Hot Wheels cars. Remember the planned KITT from 2011? It finally got released for 2012 as a new model. It has already hit stores. KITT is licensed from NBCUniversal and surprisingly not by General Motors. I guess because KITT is a heavily modified Pontiac Trans Am. Another one of my favorite cars well actually, a truck in that matter is the 1978 Dodge Lil Red Express. I am so happy for this to finally get released. If you cannot afford the real one this one is in your budget. To note this new model has two licenses on it, a Dodge Official Licensed Product logo and a Ram Trucks License due to Ram being split from Dodge.
Another New Model is the Harley-Davidson Fatboy motorcycle. To my best knowledge this marks the first time that a Harley-Davidson makes its first Hot Wheels debut. It is also licensed by Harley-Davidson. Another unusual debut for this year marks 2 BMW's a 1968 BMW 2002 and a BMW M3 GT2 race car. They are also licensed by BMW. Another oddity to the 2012 New Models is a Mazda RX7. Mazda's rarely get a Hot Wheels release and continues the yearly pattern of classic Japanese cars being introduced to the Hot Wheels lineup. I will add that the Mazda RX7 is licensed from Mazda.
