Hey everybody, it's rant time again. I haven't ranted on this blog in ages. I can't think of the last time I did so on hand. This got me thinking over the past few days that the Do Not Call List is a joke. Why is it a joke? Well for one reason it has a major loophole. That loophole my friends is Charities. That's right instead of telemarketers not being able to call you while on the DNC List, charities are exempt from it.
So basically every day we get harassed by freaking charities asking for donations. And it is beginning to tick everyone in my house off. I'm the one who gets ticked off the most. So basically the clowns in congress had dun goof'd when they created the DNC list by letting charities be exempt from the list. Now I believe that that is very unfair to to people who are registered on the DNC list because they still get harassed by charities instead of telemarketers. It's like their positions switched places or something of the sorts.
I think that the clowns in congress need to fix this loophole to make our lives easier so charities cannot call and solicit donations. I don't trust any of these charities who call anyway. They just seem so shady to me. Something doesn't add up with them. Maybe it's because I never heard of them before or don't know much about them. So if you want to make these charities to stop calling you, you should complain to your congressmen or the FCC who governs the DNC list oddly enough. Or you can do what comedian Tom Mabe does by pranking a telemarketer.

Superman The Animated Series Action Figures
In Honor of the new Man of Steel movie coming out, I thought I would take a look back and revisit Kenner's Superman The Animated Series action figure line. Let's get cracking. While the Superman The Animated Series action figures were never as popular as the Batman The Animated Series action figures, they didn't have a successful run in Europe more than they did in the USA.
Superman The Animated Series was the counterpart to Batman The Animated Series and also ran on the former WB network and was later merged with the New Batman Adventures to be called The New Batman/Superman Adventures which aired from 1998 to 2000. A majority of the Superman episodes were not new ones.
Now onto the action figures. The Superman The Animated Series action figure line had a lot of faults with it. The number one fault with it was the lack of villains. There was a huge Superman to villain ratio in this line. Only 4 villain figures were made. They were Lex Luthor, Metallo, Brainiac, Darkseid, and Bizarro. Kenner had a lot of potential with this line when it came to villains but somehow messed it up by making only 4. They had a lot of villains that could have been made such as Livewire, Granny Goodness, Lobo, Toyman, and Mr. Mxyzptlk,
Now onto the heroes, Superman has been released in this series a whopping 20 times if you don't count some of them with eye variants. Supergirl has been released 3 times with the same accessories each time give or take. She basically has been a straight up repaint with the only minor change to the sleeves and waist of her baby tee which are sometimes black and sometimes white. The only non superhero or villain to get a figure was Lois Lane who came in a 4pack, Battle For Metropolis. Lois Lane fetches a pretty penny on eBay.
There weren't really any playsets in the Superman The Animated Series line at all. However there was one vehicle though, the Clark Kent Conversion Coupe which came with an exclusive Clark Kent figure.

BattlePack Series 21 Darren Young and Titus O'Neil
On Thursday I got sick of waiting to find the Prime Time Players in the store. Since my local stores haven't even stocked BattlePack Series 21 yet and they have been hitting stores across the USA for around a month now. So since I got paid on Thursday, I went on Amazon looking for the Prime Time Players at a decent price. There was no way on earth that I would pay $39.99 for them. However I did manage to buy them for a fraction of what everyone else practically charges for them online. For $21.99 that is a bargain compared to $40 for them.
One of the major criticisms from WWE action figure collectors is Darren Young's skintone. They say he's too dark than his actual real life skintone is. If you compare his first figure from his Nexus 2pack with Justin Gabriel you'll see what they mean. However I can't complain about it because I'm just glad to have an updated figure of him. Collectors seem to complain about Titus O'Neil's figure too due to the body being smaller than it should be. Listen Not everyone's First Time In The Line Figure is going to be perfect, they all have their flaws in one way or another, Mattel Will get it right eventually. Now since it's a BattlePack it has to have an accessory, You'd think that the accessory would be a whistle or a washrag, or an Afro Comb. Actually the accessory is a Stop sign. That's right a stop sign. Why a stop sign? That sounds pretty senseless but whatever.
Anyway I would highly recommend buying this BattlePack if you see it in stores since it is packed one per case. It's a decent BattlePack which might one day be worth Millions of Dollars. That's Right Millions of Dollars. It'll be unstoppable like Kobe Bryant in a Hotel Room.

ToyBiz WCW Red and Black Attack Eric Bischoff
Yesterday I took a trip to the Schuylkill Mall in Frackville to go look around the Black Diamond Antiques and Collectibles store. The Schuylkill Mall is a dead mall by the way. So many empty store fronts going to waste. Anyway that's another story for another day. Anyway I was looking around Black Diamond and found the only wrestling figure there that I was interested in. There were two other ones there but I only had interest in the Eric Bischoff. The figures were $2 Each. Not too bad.
Anyway Eric Bischoff was the only one that I could positively Identify out of the 3 figures that were there. The Figure is in pretty decent shape for an old ToyBiz WCW figure. He has some slight paint chips on his shoes and jeans and hair which is pretty amazing.

Mattel Basic 27 Antonio Cesaro
Last Thursday I ordered a Mattel Basic 27 Antonio Cesaro from Amazon.com. I paid retail price for him at $9.99 plus shipping. Not to shabby. This isn't a bad First Time In The Line figure. He is pretty detailed down to his chest hair patten and 5 O'Clock Shadow and balding hairline. His only downside is the painted on kneepads. The Figure is the Other First Time in the line figure in basic 27 next to Ryback.

Mattel Movie Masters Man Of Steel Superman and General Zod
I just started buying some of the Mattel Man of Steel Movie Masters figures. I used to have some of The Dark Knight figures but I got rid of them in trades for WWE figures with fellow wfigs.proboards.com members. Anyway enough about that. Lets talk about the Mattel Movie Masters Man of Steel figures shall we? The Mattel Movie Masters figures have gone through sort of a redesign in their articulation by getting rid of the ab crunch torso that is comparable vital part to a Mattel WWE Elite figure. Many collectors are kind of mixed on their reactions of the figures not having the ab crunch articulation. Some are against it. While others are for it. Some just don't care that its gone. As for my Opinion I can live without the ab crunch.
Now onto the Superman figure. Superman is the best Superman figure out there. Its better than any Kenner Superman ever made. A lot of collectors are complaining about the rubber cape not being made of cloth. I guess these collectors are blind because the Batman figures had a rubber cape too. Superman's costume is pretty cool as well. It's better than the one from Superman Returns. Also the figures are packaged with their heads down for some reason. So don't let that turn you away from buying them.
Today I picked up General Zod. General Zod is a great figure too. I heard there's going to be one with armor coming out in the near future. So we'll have to stay tuned for that. General Zod is the same height as Superman due to all of the Movie Masters figures not being in scale with one another unlike the WWE figures Mattel Makes. Also I may add that the Man of Steel Movie Masters figures will be a better seller than the Green Lantern figures from the Movie Masters line. Because The Green Lantern figures sucked and sat on shelves forever.
On a side note if you came here looking for the Christopher Reeve Movie Masters figures, you were probably disappointed that I wasn't talking about the 12 inch figures that were sold on Matty Collector that can now be found at your local Ollie's Bargain Outlet Stores.

Mattel Basic 27 Ryback
Today I finally received my Mattel Basic 27 Ryback from another wfigs.proboards.com member. It's time to Feed Me More figures. Ryback is such an awesome figure. It's a major improvement since his first Skip Sheffield figure from Basic 11. Ironically his Skip Sheffield figure fetches triple digit numbers MOC due to it's obscurity. Ryback is currently the most sought after Mattel Basic figure. Ryback has the first time in the line logo on the package which makes sense because Ryback is his new gimmick that got him over unlike the Skip Sheffield gimmick which went nowhere. Anyway the headscan on Ryback is dead on accurate down to the eyes and the 5 O'clock shadow. Ryback has a detailed molded singlet. His armbands are painted on however which is the only gripe I have with this figure.
