10 Movies That are Based On Books that People Don't Know About

  I have been planning to write this for a while now and have been putting it off due to Mattel WWE action figure posts. So I have been thinking Movies that are based on books but not many people have heard of or read the book. So Here is my list of movies. I'll list the book title first and then the Author and if applicable the Movie's title if it was changed.

1. The Incredible Journey by Shelia Burnford. Movie was made as The Incredible Journey in 1963 and it was remade in 1993 as Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey.
2. Forrest Gump By Winston Groom.
3. Jaws by Peter Benchley. Not many people from my generation would know this hit 1975 Movie was based on a book at all.
4. The Stupids Series by James Marshall and Harry Allard. Was made into a movie in 1996 called The Stupids which bombed the box office.
5. The Brave Little Toaster by Thomas M. Disch. Most people know of the animated movie but don't know that the classic film was based on a book.
6. The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars by Thomas M. Disch, The sequel book nobody really knows about. Made into a crappy Disney Direct to Video Sequel.
7. Alias Madame Doubtfire by Anne Fine. Most people know of the movie that is known as Mrs. Doubtfire.
8. Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. It was made into a 1990 movie retitled A Cry in the Wild.
9. Planet of the Apes by Pierre Boulle
10. Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
