The Bodyguard Score Review

The Album artwork
Today is my birthday and I turned 23 today. For my birthday I decided to write a review of The Bodyguard score by Alan Silvestri. Recently La-La Land Records had finally released the score to the 1992 hit movie The Bodyguard starring the late Whitney Houston. No score was ever released on CD before now. Sadly enough the only piece of score that was put on the original soundtrack was The Theme from The Bodyguard. Poor Alan Silvestri, he worked so hard on the score to get one track on the soundtrack that was dominated by Whitney Houston. Until now, it has finally gotten a proper release. This is a limited edition of 3500 copies.
I am a fan of Alan Silvestri's work. He did an excellent job in scoring films such as The A-Team, Back to the Future series, Captain America, The Avengers, and Forrest Gump to name a few. This is one of those scores that is overshadowed by a big name singer, Whitney Houston.
Here is the tracklisting.

Overall I enjoyed this score very much. I never really saw the movie to be honest except for a few pieces of it on TV. The score is very peaceful and dramatic during points in the tracks. I find some of it very relaxing and calming to listen to, even with the dramatic points and the thrilling points as well. The score can be very suspenseful at times too. It's one of those scores that never gets any recognition due to Whitney Houston being in the spotlight. I also find it nice that they dedicated the score in the memory of Whitney Houston. You kinda saw that coming though. It was a good thing they did that. Also If you're a fan of Alan Silvestri or Whitney Houston you should buy this. Overall I give it a 10 out of 10. Alan Silvestri really outdone himself with this score. It should have been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score.
The CD is available for purchase here. If you're looking for an mp3 for iTunes alas there is none.
